Then meditate on this:
"Then you [the American people] claim to be innocent [after re-electing Bush]! This innocence of yours is like my innocence of the blood of your sons of the 11th -- were I to claim such a thing."
I hate to say it, but I agree with him. In fact, I said this many times before: ultimately, we the American people bear the responsibility for our leaders' actions. We are to blame for the reckless, illegal, and immoral Iraq invasion and occupation.
If we believe the Iraq war is unjust, then we are complicit in that injustice. In response, feeling sorry isn't enough -- we must make amends, we must make things right.
If we believe that the ends (i.e. increased security for us) justify the means (i.e. killing thousands of innocents), then we're just as immoral as bin Laden.
