Harvard: Stopping 'mean girls' at work

Note that this blog was written by two women.

I'm going to sound very un-liberal and male chauvanist, but in my experience, bad female bosses are worse than bad male bosses, because the level of manipulation and behind-the-scenes sabotage by women is off the charts compared to anything a man is capable of. And let's face it, when it comes to intrigue and emotional manipulation, women are the superior sex, so bad female bosses are just playing to their strengths. At least for a man, a barking male boss who throws his weight around is somehow easier to comprehend and deal with than a woman who smiles to your face then jams in the knife when you turn around....
