The unemployment rate among U.S. blacks was 15.5 percent in September; and in Obama's home state of Illinois it was 18.6 percent!
Blacks are being hit especially hard by the recession because they're the last hired and first fired. They are also heavily represented in manufacturing and the auto industry.
