Re: Obama's failure to lead

What hypocrisy! Obama reacted almost identically to how Bush did after Richard Reid, the "shoe bomber": 6 days of silence, preceded by casual statements from his press sec. that Bush was monitoring the situation. Only, with Dubya it happened 4 months after 9/11, not 8 years after.

Gimme a break! "Leadership"?! Your side wanted "leadership" from Obama after the attempted Detroit bombing?! Don't tell me that you were cowering in fear in your home, just waiting for Pres. Obama to reassure you and the nation that everything was gonna be OK. You think he's a crypto-Marxist who hates America and wants to destroy it; and yet you wanted him to go on TV and reassure you?! Makes no sense! This is just a partisan swipe at Obama. It shows that politics trump national security, contrary to Republicans' assertions.

BTW, have all Americans turned into cowardly pu**ies, or just Republicans? Yeah, there are a few hundred nutjobs in the world who want to kill us and are willing to die trying. So what? We're the most powerful nation on Earth. We'll sweep up their charred remains and carry on. This is the price we pay for being the biggest guy on the block, and exerting our influence all over the globe, often clumsily so. Stop crying about it, stop cowering in fear, and reconcile with the fact that we're gonna take casualties at home, not just "over there." But those casualties will be relatively small and infrequent, hence there's no reason these one-off attacks should alter our way of life, as long as we don't collectively wet our pants and cry like hysterical little girls. Jeez.
