No double standards: Romney's faith is fair game

Speaking of politicians' faith, here's some cry-babying by conservative journalist Edward Klein about how the media -- and, he charges, the Obama campaign -- are starting to take a closer look at Romney's Mormonism.

Get over it, man!  Obama's faith has been fair game among Republicans for the past four years.

At least most people know what Christianity stands for.  But how many people know Mormon theology?  If the Church of Latter-day Saints is at the core of who Mitt Romney is, then by gum, we need to know what the Mormon church stands for.

As an aside, I thought this statement by Klein was such a telling, unintentional giveaway: "Of course, [David] Axelrod and his team had already succeeded in pandering to special interest groups, such as Hispanics, gays, and women."  Special interest groups!?  There you have it, that's how Republicans view anybody who is not a straight white male.  You can't make this stuff up, folks.
