Lib'rul media overlooks generals' corporate conflict of interest

Some of you will hate me for pointing this out, but even U.S. generals can have selfish aims that hurt our national security.

Nobody should take what retired Gens. Barry McCaffrey, Richard Myers, or Richard Scales, Jr. have to say about Iraq and Afghanistan at face value. They are not impartial experts. Continuing these wars makes them richer. Period.

If it were up to me, not only elected politicians and high-level bureaucrats but also high-ranking military personnel would not be allowed to lobby or work for contractors which stand to gain from that person's government contacts and clout. Not for life, but an injunction of say 5 years should be sufficient.

As Matt Taibbi noted, in America it's not called bribery if an official gets paid off after he leaves government. That's gotta change.
