Jeez, Dubya even managed to make democracy sound bad.
To be fair though, Clinton-Gore managed the same feat in Russia in the 90's.
More to the point, I'm very skeptical about the efficacy of most of these U.S.-funded democracy-promotion programs. Especially when they are coupled with U.S. offical hypocrisy toward despotic and anti-democratic regimes.
